The National Statistical Institute (NSI) is a state institution in Bulgaria that collects, processes and disseminates official statistical information on social, economic and demographic processes in the country. The NSI's activities are aimed at providing objective and reliable data that support informed decision-making by the state, business and society. The Institute works in accordance with international statistical standards and is an active participant in the European Statistical System.

Data is derived from the annual activity reports of the corporations submitted to the NSI according to the Statistical Act. These corporations are classified in sectors S.11 Non-financial corporations, S.12 Financial corporations and S.2 Rest of the world, in accordance with the European System of National and Regional Accounts 2010. For the purposes of these data public enterprises are those, in which the government participation in their capital is at least 50%. |
