In July 2017, the total consumer confidence indicator increases by 1.6 percentage points in comparison with its April level. An increase of consumer confidence among both urban and rural inhabitants by 1.2 and 2.8 percentage points respectively is observed.

In the second quarter of 2017, the municipal authorities issued building permits for construction of 1 647 residential buildings with 5 815 dwellings, of 40 administrative buildings/offices and 1 968 other buildings. The construction of 1 281 residential buildings with 3 842 dwellings, of 25 administrative buildings/offices and 1 277 other buildings was started.

Similar to statistics of human population, business demography describes the life cycle of the enterprises; their birth, survival and development until death. More specifically business demography supplies data on number of active enterprises, number of newborn enterprises, proportion of survived enterprises and data on changes in employment figures at specific moment in time.

In May 2017 compared to April 2017 an increase is reported for the production of solid fuels by 21.0%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 1.9% and transport diesel - by 11.3%. At the same time a decrease is reported for the production of electricity by 6.4% and no change for the production of liquefied petroleum gases and natural gas.

In May 2017 compared to April 2017 an increase is reported for the deliveries of solid fuels - by 20.9% and unleaded motor gasoline - by 14.6%. At the same time a decrease is reported for the deliveries of transport diesel - by 16.8%, natural gas - by 15.7% and electricity - by 8.6%. No change for the deliveries of liquefied petroleum gases. 

Total Producer Price Index in June 2017 decreased by 0.2% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2016 the prices rose by 3.1%. Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in June 2017 fell by 0.4% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2016 the domestic prices grew by 2.7%. 

In July 2017, the total business climate indicator decreases by 1.4 percentage points in comparison with June, but continue to be above to its long-term average (by 7.8 percentage points). More unfavourable business climate is registered in construction, retail trade and service sector, while in industry an increase of the indicator is observed.

In June 2017, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 618.9 thousand or by 9.5% above the registered in June 2016. The trips with other purposes (as a guest, education and visit the cultural and sport events) in June 2017 composed the greatest share of the total number of trips of Bulgarian residents abroad - 45.5%, followed by the trips with holiday and recreation purpose - 30.6%, and with professional purpose - 23.9%.

In June 2017, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 1 448.6 thousand or by 6.9% more in comparison with June 2016. An increase was registered in the trips with other purposes - by 20.4% and with holiday and recreation purpose - by 5.9%, while those with professional purpose decreased by 17.1%.

The trials of 28 119 committed crimes were ended with penalties (effective and conditional) in 2016. Persons convicted with penalties inflicted in 2016 were 28 301.

The consumer price index in June 2017 compared to May 2017 was 99.5%, i.e. the monthly inflation was -0.5%. 

In May 2017, 2 240 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed-places were functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 103.6 thousand and the bed-places were 228.2 thousand. In comparison with May 2016, the total number of accommodation establishments (functioned during the period) increased with 0.5%, and the bed-places in them - by 2.8%.

The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in May 2017 was 1 310.1 thousand, or by 3.0% less in comparison with the same month of the previous year.

The total revenues from nights spent in May 2017 reached 61.5 million BGN or by 2.8% more compared to May 2016.
