Producer Price Indices in Industry, July 2017
Total Producer Price Index in July 2017 increased by 1.3% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2016 the prices rose by 4.7%. Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in July 2017 increased by 2.4% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2016 the domestic prices grew by 5.3%.
Production and Deliveries of Energy Products, June 2017
In June 2017 compared to May 2017 an increase is reported for the production of electricity by 3.7%. At the same time a decrease is reported for the production of solid fuels - by 12.8%, liquefied petroleum gases - by 9.1%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 3.1%, transport diesel - by 4.9% and natural gas - by 33.3%.
In June 2017 compared to May 2017 an increase is reported for the deliveries of liquefied petroleum gases - by 6.7%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 10.6% and transport diesel - by 26.6%. At the same time a decrease is reported for the deliveries of solid fuels - by 13.4%, natural gas - by 3.2% and electricity - by 0.2%.
Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in July 2017
In July 2017, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 665.7 thousand or by 15.3% above the registered in July 2016. The trips with other purposes (as a guest, education and visit the cultural and sport events) in July 2017 composed the greatest share of the total number of trips of Bulgarian residents abroad - 42.0%, followed by the trips with holiday and recreation purpose - 40.7% and with professional purpose - 17.3%.
In July 2017, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 2 022.1 thousand or by 8.0% more in comparison with July 2016. An increase was registered in the trips by all observed purposes: with professional purpose - by 12.5%, with holiday and recreation purpose - by 9.6% and with other purposes - by 4.6%.
Business Conjuncture, August 2017
In August 2017, the total business climate indicator increases by 0.5 percentage points compared to the previous month as a result of the improved business climate in retail trade and service sector. In industry, a decrease of the indicator is observed, while in construction it remains approximately to July level.
Price Indices in Agriculture, Second Quarter of 2017
The producer price index in agriculture in the second quarter of 2017 increased by 2.0% in comparison with the same quarter of 2016. The crop output index decreased by 0.8%, while the animal output index increased by 6.3%. In comparison with previous year the prices of agricultural output went up by 4.5% due to the increase in crop output price index - by 3.9% and in animal output price index - by 5.3%.
The index of prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture in the second quarter of 2017 was 2.0% above the level in the same quarter of previous year and by 1.6% compared to 2016.
Goods and passengers carried and transport performance by mode of transport in the second quarter of 2017 (preliminary data)
According to preliminary data during the second quarter of 2017 in comparison with the same period of 2016 there was an increase both in the goods carried and in the transport performance by the freight land and water transport.
In the second quarter of 2017 the transported passengers by passenger transport (land, water and urban electrical transport) increased by 1.2% compared to the same period of the previous year, while the transport performance decreased by 11.4%.
Turnover Indices in Services in the Second Quarter of 2017
According to the preliminary data for the second quarter of 2017 the total turnover index in section ‘Transportation, storage and post’, calculated on the basis of seasonally adjusted data increased by 2.4% compared to the first quarter of 2017. In section ‘Information and communication’ the turnover index grew by 7.1%.
Tourist Trips and Tourism-related Expenditure of the Population in Second Quarter of 2017 (preliminary data)
In the second quarter of 2017, 1 149.8 thousand Bulgarian residents made tourist trips. The majority (83.6%) of them travelled only within the country, 13.5% - only abroad and 2.9% - both in the country and abroad. Compared to the same quarter of 2016 the total number of the travelled persons aged 15 and over increased by 26.5%, as the number of the Bulgarian residents travelled only in the country increased by 31.1%, travelled only abroad - by 8.9% and the number of persons travelled both in the country and abroad - by 0.3%.
Gross Domestic Product for the Second Quarter of 2017 (Flash Estimates)
According to the seasonally adjusted data, the GDP growth rate in the second quarter of 2017 is 3.6% compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
Household Income, Expenditure and Consumption during the Second Quarter of 2017
The total income average per household member during the second quarter of 2017 is 1 355 BGN and increases by 9.4% compared to the same quarter of 2016.
The total expenditure average per household member during the second quarter of 2017 is 1 195 BGN and increases by 11.1% in comparison to the same quarter of 2016.
The consumption of main food products average per household member during the second quarter of 2017 compared to the same quarter of 2016 does not change considerable.
