European Health Interview Survey - third wave, 2019 (final data)
The National Statistical Institute informs statistical data users that final European Health Interview - wave 3 data are available
The European Health Interview Survey is a part of the European Health Survey System, which aims at measuring on a harmonized basis and with a high degree of comparability among EU Member States, the health status, life style (health determinants) and health care services use of the EU citizens.
In 2019, the Bulgarian NSI participated in the EHIS wave 3 in accordance with the Commission Regulation (EU) No. 2018/255. The survey has been carried out in the period October 2019 - January 2020.
Following the successful completion of the validation procedure by Eurostat, users can now benefit from the survey final data.
Aggregated data are available to all users on the NSI’s website, theme ‘Health’ (https://www.nsi.bg/en/content/18647/ehis-wave-3-2019), in the IS ‘Infostat’ (https://infostat.nsi.bg/infostat/pages/module.jsf?x_2=43) as well as service on request, according to the Rules for the dissemination of statistical products and services in NSI.
Anonymised individual data will be provide for scientific and research purposes by individual request, according to the Rules for the provision of anonymised individual data for scientific and research purposes, at the end of 2021.
Key Indicators for Bulgaria (as of 05.07.2021)
The key indicators are elaborated in accordance with the euro area, European Union and individual Member States indicators system. The analytical document is quarterly updated. Source of the data are the NSI statistical surveys and BNB data. From 2016 annual data is published in a separate application, which is updated every first half year.
Producer Price Indices in Industry, May 2021
Total Producer Price Index in May 2021 increased by 1.9% compared to the previous month and by 13.0% compared to the same month of 2020. Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in May 2021 increased by 1.3% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2020 the domestic prices rose by 8.9%.
Production and Deliveries of Energy Products, April 2021
In April 2021 compared to March 2021 a decrease is reported for the production of solid fuels - by 8.1%, liquefied petroleum gases - by 28.6%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 45.1%, transport diesel - by 32.7%, and electricity - by 9.4%. No change for the production of natural gas.
In April 2021 compared to March 2021 an increase is reported for the deliveries of unleaded motor gasoline - by 40.0% and transport diesel - by 31.5%. A decrease is reported for the deliveries of solid fuels - by 8.7%, liquefied petroleum gases - by 8.1%, natural gas - by 22.0%, and electricity - by 14.4%.
Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in May 2021
In May 2021, in the conditions of the continuing epidemic situation, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 332.0 thousand.
In May 2021, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 365.6 thousand, as the transit was 58.6% (214.3 thousand) of all visits of foreigners in the country.
Business Conjuncture, June 2021
In June 2021, the total business climate indicator decreases by 4.0 percentage points in comparison with the previous month, as a reduce of the indicator is registered in industry and construction.
Situation of the non-financial enterprises in the epidemic situation in May 2021
Main results from the short business survey amongst the non-financial enterprises, aiming at presenting information on the economic effects from the declared state of emergency and the ensuing epidemic situation in the country due to COVID-19.
Activity and condition of accommodation establishments during the state of emergency in May 2021
In June 2021, the National Statistical Institute conducted the monthly inquiry survey of the managers of accommodation establishments to gather accurate and timely information on the state and development of their businesses during the ensuing epidemic situation in the country.
Publishing Production in 2020 (Published Books and Pamphlets and Continued Editions)
In Bulgaria during 2020 were issued:
- 10 769 books and pamphlets with circulation of 5 893 thousands
- 209 newspapers with circulation of 123 287 thousands
- 519 magazines and bulletins with circulation of 8 416 thousands
- 101 periodical collections with circulation of 17 thousands.

In 2020, price levels for consumer goods and services differed widely across the EU Member States.
