Business Conjuncture, August 2021
In August 2021, the total business climate indicator decreases by 2.3 percentage points compared to the previous month, which is due to the worsened business climate in industry, retail trade and service sector.
Crimes, accused persons and persons convicted in 2020
The trials of 23 640 committed crimes were ended with penalties (effective and conditional) in 2020. Persons convicted with penalties inflicted in 2020 were 21 889.
Goods and passengers carried and transport performance by mode of transport in the second quarter of 2021 (preliminary data)
According to preliminary data during the second quarter of 2021 in comparison with the same quarter of 2020 the goods carried and the transport performance by the freight land and water transport increased.
In the second quarter of 2021 there was an increase both in the transported passengers (by 30.1%) and the transport performance (by 36.0%) from the passenger transport (land, water and urban electrical transport) compared to the same period of the previous year.
Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in July 2021
In July 2021, in the conditions of the continuing epidemic situation, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 612.8 thousand. The trips with other purposes (as a guest, education and visit the cultural and sport events) in July 2021 composed the greatest share of the total number of trips of Bulgarian residents abroad - 41.5%, followed by those with holiday and recreation purposes - 40.4%, and with professional purpose - 18.1%.
In July 2021, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 1 234.5 thousand, as the transit was 39.1% (482.9 thousand) of all visits of foreigners in the country. In July 2021, the relative share of visits by purpose was as follows: with other purposes - 47.3%, with holiday and recreation purpose - 44.9%, and with professional purpose - 7.8%.
Activity and condition of accommodation establishments during the state of emergency in July 2021
In August 2021, the National Statistical Institute conducted the monthly inquiry survey of the managers of accommodation establishments to gather accurate and timely information on the state and development of their businesses during the ensuing epidemic situation in the country.

The European System of Integrated Social Protection Statistics (ESSPROS), 2019
In 2019, Bulgaria spent 19 918.5 million BGN for social protection. Тo finance social protection in the country, 8 129.0 million BGN were allocated from the state budget while the receipts of social protection contributions amounted to 13 258.3 million BGN.
Turnover Indices in Services in the Second Quarter of 2021
According to the preliminary data for the second quarter of 2021 the total turnover index in section ‘Transportation, storage and post’, calculated on the basis of seasonally adjusted data, increased by 0.9% compared to the first quarter of 2021. In section ‘Information and communication’ the turnover index increased by 4.7%.
Tourist Trips and Tourism-related Expenditure of the Population in Second Quarter of 2021 (preliminary data)
In the second quarter of 2021, during the continuing epidemic situation in the country, 931.7 thousand Bulgarian residents made tourist trips. The majority - 93.0% of them travelled only within the country, 6.1% - only abroad, and 0.9% - both in the country and abroad.
Household Income, Expenditure and Consumption during the Second Quarter of 2021
The total income average per household member during the second quarter of 2021 is 1 894 BGN and increases by 11.6% compared to the same quarter of 2020.
The total expenditure average per household member during the second quarter of 2021 is 1 666 BGN and increases by 20.3% in comparison to the same quarter of 2020.
The consumption of main food products average per household member does change during the second quarter of 2021 compared to the same quarter of 2020.
