The preliminary data showed that the Industrial Production Index increased by 3.6% in June 2010 as compared to the same month of 2009, as compared to the previous month the production rose by 11.5%. Industrial Turnover Index increased by 15.9% compared to June 2009, as compared to the previous month the turnover rose by 8.0%.
According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) at the end of June 2010 the number of employees under labour contract increased by 1.7% as compared to the end of March 2010 and reached to 2.23 millions. In second quarter of 2010 in comparison with the first quarter of 2010 the average monthly wages and salaries increased by 3.4% getting 640 levs.
In the first half of 2010 the Bulgarian exports to third countries increased by 44.1% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 5.4 billion levs.
Bulgarian imports from third countries for the first half of 2010 increased by 7.4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 7.1 billion levs.
During the period January - May 2010 the Bulgarian exports to EU increased by 12.3% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 6.3 billion levs.

The consumer survey carried out by the National Statistical Institute in July 2010 registers an increase of the total consumer confidence indicator by 4.5 percentage points in comparison with April. The indicator goes up both for the urban and for the rural population (an increase of the indicators by 3.9 and 6.1 percentage points respectively). As a whole the July inquiry reports on a decrease of pessimism in consumers’ assessments and expectations in comparison with April.
Similar to statistics of human population, business demography describes the life cycle of the enterprises; their birth, survival and development until death. More specifically business demography supplies data on number of active enterprises, number of newborn enterprises, proportion of survived enterprises and data on changes in employment figures at specific moment in time.
Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in June 2010 is at the level of the previous month, while compared to the same month of 2009 the domestic prices rose by 5.6%. Total Producer Price Index in Industry decreased by 0.2% compared to the previous month, compared to the same month of 2009 the prices rose by 8.4%.
In 2009 the exported goods were for 22.9 billion levs and compared to 2008 the exports fell by 23.1%.
The imported goods for 2009 were for 33 billion levs (CIF prices) or 32.7% less than in 2008.
In July 2010 the total business climate indicator increases by 1.4 percentage points in comparison with June due to the improvement of the business climate in industry and in the service sector.
