Business Conjuncture, October 2013
In October 2013 the total business climate indicator decreases by 2.1 percentage points compared to its level of the previous month, as in industry and service sector the drop of the indicator is observed (respectively by 4.6 и 3.3 percentage points). In retail trade the business climate increases by 1.6 percentage points and in construction keeps approximately its September level.
Agricultural Land Market and Rents in Agriculture in the Republic of Bulgaria during the period 2010 - 2012
The price of 1 decare agricultural land is 279 BGN in 2010, 398 BGN in 2011 and 547 BGN in 2012.
The average price per 1 decare rented land is 23 BGN in 2010, 30 BGN in 2011 and 34 BGN in 2012.
Market Price Indices of Dwellings for the Third Quarter of 2013
The market price index of the dwellings for the third quarter of 2013 compared to the second quarter of 2013 was 99.9%, i.e. the average decrease of the market prices of the dwellings was 0.1%.
Deficit and Debt of General Government Sector in 2012
On the basis of final data of the National Statistical Institute in 2012 the General Government Sector has reported a deficit of 592 million BGN or 0.8% of GDP.
The Government Debt of Bulgaria for 2012 is 14 388 million BGN or 18.5% of GDP.
Research and Development Activity in 2012 (preliminary data)
In 2012, the total amount of the expenditure on research and development (R&D) was 495.9 million BGN, which was by 15.5% more in comparison with the previous year. The R&D intensity amounted to 0.64% of GDP and was by 0.07 percentage points higher compared to 2011.
Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in September 2013
The consumer price index in September 2013 compared to August 2013 was 100.1%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.1%.
Activity of Accommodation Establishments in August 2013
In August 2013, 2 757 aaccommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed places were functioning in the country. The total number of rooms in them was 123.7 thousands and the bed-places were 276.8 thousands. In comparison with August 2012 the total number of accommodation establishments has increased by 7.4% and the bed-places in them - by 0.3%.
The total number of nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in August 2013 was 5 025.0 thousands or by 3.4% more in comparison with the same month of the previous year. The total revenues from nights spent reached 213.1 million BGN or by 8.7% more compared to August 2012.
Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries for the Period January - August 2013 (preliminary data)
In the period January - August 2013 Bulgarian exports to third countries have increased by 7.3% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and have amounted to 11.6 Billion BGN while the imports have decreased by 1.7% and have added up to 13.5 Billion BGN.In the period January - August 2013 the total value of all exported goods (both for third countries and EU) have amounted to 28.7 Billion BGN and compared to the corresponding period of 2012 the exports have increased by 7.9% while the total value of all imported goods have added up to 33.0 Billion BGN and have decreased by 0.3%.
Bulgarian Trade with EU for the Period January - July 2013 (preliminary data)
In the period January - July 2013 Bulgarian exports to the EU have increased by 6.6% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 14.7 Billion BGN while the imports from EU have grown by 1.0% and added up to 17.3 Billion BGN.In July 2013 exports to the EU have increased by 7.9% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and have amounted to 2.4 Billion Levs while the imports have grown by 6.8% and added up to 2.8 Billion Levs.
Construction Production Indices in August 2013
According to the preliminary data, in August 2013 the index of production in section ‘Construction’, calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data was 1.0% below the level of the previous month. The working day adjusted index of production in construction decreased by 9.5% in comparison with the same month of 2012.
