Production and Deliveries of Energy Products, October 2013 (preliminary data)

In October 2013 compared to September 2013 an increase of the production of solid fuels by 50.2%, liquefied petroleum gases by - 28.6%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 7.3%, transport diesel - by 10.7%, natural gas - by 8.7% and electricity - by 7.2% is reported.

In October 2013 compared to September 2013 an increase of the deliveries of solid fuels by 48.5%, liquefied petroleum gases - by 5.9%, natural gas - by 23.0% and electricity - by 12.6% is reported. At the same time a decrease for the deliveries of unleaded motor gasoline - by 10.4% and transport diesel - by 3.3% is reported. 

Producer Price Indices in Industry, October 2013

Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in October 2013 decreased by 0.2% compared to the previous month, while compared to the same month of 2012 the domestic prices fell by 3.9%. Total Producer Price Index went down by 0.3% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2012 the prices declined by 4.2%.

In November 2013 the total business climate indicator increases by 1.7 percentage points compared to its October level which is due to the more favourable business climate in industry and service sector (an increase by 4.3 and 0.9 percentage points respectively). In retail trade a decrease of the indicator is observed (by 0.6 percentage points), while in construction it remains approximately on the level from the previous month.

Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in October 2013

In October 2013, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 306.5 thousand or by 8.9% above the registered in October 2012. The trips with other purposes (as guest, education and visit the cultural and sport events) composed the greatest share of the total number of trips of Bulgarian residents abroad - 55.8%, followed by the trips with professional purpose - 23.8% and with holiday and recreation purposes - 20.4%.

In October 2013, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 546.7 thousand which was by 4.3% above the level of October 2012. An increase was registered in the visits with holiday and recreation purpose - by 10.3% and with other purposes - by 2.7%, while these with the professional purpose decreased by 4.9%. 

Goods and Passengers Carried and Transport Performance by Mode of Transport in the Third Quarter of 2013 (preliminary data)

According to preliminary data during the third quarter of 2013 in comparison with the same period of 2012 an increase in the transported goods by land and water transport by 15.2% was observed, while the transport performance fell by 5.3%.

Compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year both the transported passengers and the transport performance by land, water and urban electrical transport fell by 7.6% and 1.3%, respectively. 

Tourist Trips and Tourism-related Expenditure of the Population in Third Quarter of 2013 (preliminary data)

In the third quarter of 2013, 1 343.1 thousand Bulgarian residents made tourist trips. The majority part (85.3%) of them travelled only in the country, 11.1% - only abroad and 3.6% - both in the country and abroad. Compared to the same quarter of 2012 the total number of the travelled persons aged 15 and over rose by 11.4%, as an increase was observed in the number of the Bulgarian residents travelled in the country - by 14.2%, while the number of persons travelled abroad decreased by 2.3%. 
 

Turnover Indices in Services in the Third Quarter of 2013

According to preliminary data from the third quarter of 2013 the total turnover index for section “Transportation, storage and post”, calculated on the basis of seasonally adjusted data was 2.6% higher than the previous quarter. In section „Information and communication” the turnover index grew by 0.3%.
