Theme 'Population and Social Statistics'

The National Statistical Institute presents the annual publication Population and demographic processes 2007 to users of statistical information.

The issue is bilingual (Bulgarian/English) and contains detailed statistical information about the demographic state in the Republic of Bulgaria during the year of 2007. Data for the number and the structures of the population and for its natural movement and internal migration are published in the issue.

The National Statistical Institute presents the electronic bulletin Employment and Unemployment - 2/2008 to its users.

The bulletin is a quarterly electronic publication of the National Statistical Institute, presenting the results from the Labour force survey. The Labour force survey is a sample statistical survey on households for examination of the economic activity of the population aged 15 years and over.

The methodology of the survey has been developed according to ILO and Eurostat recommendations.

The National Statistical Institute presents to users of statistical information the electronic publication Road Traffic Accidents in the Republic of Bulgaria 2007. The issue is a joint edition of the Ministry of Interior and the National Statistical Institute.

It contains tables with annual information about the road traffic accidents, killed and injured persons registered in Bulgaria during 2007, distributed by:

          - districts and municipalities;

          - nature of accidents;

The National Statistical Institute presents to users of statistical information the electronic bilingual (Bulgarian/English) publication Average Prices and Purchased Quantities of Main Foods and Non-Foods by Households for the 1992 - 2007 Period.

The National Statistical Institute informs its customers that the publication Continuing Vocational Training in Еnterprises in 2005 is already available.

The main results from the carried out in 2006 sample survey on vocational training (initial and continuing) organized by the enterprises in 2005 for their employed are presented in the publication.

The National Statistical Institute presents to the attention of users of statistical information "Bulgaria:The Challenges of Poverty" - a new publication in English which is a result of the Multipurpose Household Survey in Bulgaria carried out during 2003 by the NSI and the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy with the assistance of the World Bank. The main objective of the survey was to collect versatile, relevant and multilateral information on living conditions and poverty in the country.
