Foreign Trade of Bulgaria for 2009 - Final Data
In 2009 the exported goods were for 22.9 billion levs and compared to 2008 the exports fell by 23.1%.

In July 2010 the total business climate indicator increases by 1.4 percentage points in comparison with June due to the improvement of the business climate in industry and in the service sector.
In June 2010 the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents in abroad was 316.9 thousand, which was 34.8% less than the number of the trips in June 2009. In June 2010, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 970.2 thousand or 1.4% more than the number of trips in the corresponding month of 2009.
The market price index of the dwellings for the second quarter of 2010 compared to the first quarter of 2010 was 99.2%, i.e. the average decrease of the market prices of the dwellings was 0.8%.
The consumer price index (CPI) in June 2010 compared to May 2010 was 99.1%, i.e. the monthly inflation was -0.9%.
The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) in June 2010 compared to May 2010 was 99.6%, i.e. the monthly inflation was -0.4%.
By the preliminary data of the NSI, the total construction production in May 2010 was 16.6% less than the same month of the previous year. A drop by 25.2% was registered in the production of building construction, while in the civil engineering production the decrease was 0.4%.
According to the preliminary data the trade turnover in May 2010 fell by 12.4% in comparison with the same month of the previous year.
The preliminary data showed that the Industrial Production Index increased by 0.4% in May 2010 as compared to the same month of 2009, as compared to the previous month the production fell by 0.9%. Industrial Turnover Index increased by 12.7% compared to May 2009, as compared to the previous month the turnover rose by 1.0%
In 2009 the government budget appropriations or outlays on R&D (GBAORD) amounted to 230.4 million BGN which is 8.5 % more than the previous year.
Nearly a quarter of the Bulgarian enterprises (23.9%) have been fulfilled innovation activity over the period 2006 - 2008.
