In October 2014, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 300.9 thousand or by 1.8% under the registered in October. The trips with other purposes (as a guest, education and visit the cultural and sport events) in October 2014 composed the greatest share of the total number of trips of Bulgarian residents abroad - 41.1%, followed by the trips with holiday and recreation purposes - 33.4%, and with professional purpose - 25.5%.
In October 2014, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 557.1 thousands or by 1.9% above the level of October 2013. An increase was registered in the trips with other purposes - by 30.8% while the trips with holiday and recreation purpose and with professional purpose decreased by 23.3% and 7.8% respectively.
According to preliminary data during the third quarter of 2014 in comparison with the corresponding quarter of 2013 a drop in the transported goods (by 16.6%) as well in the transport performance (by 18.0%) from the land and water transport was registered.
Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year in the third quarter of 2014 the number of transported passengers decreased by 0.2%, while the transport performance, measured in passenger-kilometres, rose by 9.7%.
According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute for the first semester of 2014, the trials ended with inflicted penalty cover 11 208 committed crimes.
The number of persons convicted with penalties come into force amounted to 12 210 as 672 of them were between 14 -17 years that presents 5.5% of the total number of all convicted persons.
According to the preliminary data in the third quarter of 2014 the total turnover index for section ‘Transportation, storage and post’, calculated on the basis of seasonally adjusted data, decreased by 2.7% than the previous quarter, while in section ‘Information and communication’ - by 1.2%.
In the third quarter of 2014, 1 123.6 thousand Bulgarian residents made tourist trips. The majority (83.1%) of them travelled only within the country, 14.0% - only abroad and 2.9% - both in the country and abroad. Compared to the third quarter of 2013 in the third quarter of 2014, the total number of the travelled persons aged 15 and over decreased by 2.2%, as a reduction was observed in the number of the Bulgarian residents travelled in the country - by 1.9%, as well as in the number of persons travelled abroad - by 4.4%.
The total income average per household member during the third quarter of 2014 is 1 195 BGN and decreases by 3.7% compared to the same period of 2013.
The total expenditure average per household member during the third quarter of 2014 is 1 147 BGN and remains almost the same in comparison to the same quarter of 2013.
The consumption of main food products average per household member decreases during the third quarter of 2014 compared to the same quarter of 2013.
