The main results of the yearly exhaustive surveys that characterize the activity of the educational institutions, conducted by the National Statistical Institute (NSI), are:
In March 2015, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 318.3 thousand or by 1.6% above the registered in March 2014. The trips with other purposes (as a guest, education and visit the cultural and sport events) in March 2015 composed the greatest share of the total number of trips of Bulgarian residents abroad - 50.0%, followed by the trips with professional purpose - 28.2%, and with holiday and recreation purposes - 21.8%.
In March 2015, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 370.5 thousands or by 2.6% above the level of March 2014. An increase was registered in the trips with professional purpose and with other purposes by 23.1% and 9.5% respectively, while the trips with holiday and recreation purpose decreased by 11.8%.
On the basis of preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute the General Government Sector reported in 2014 government deficit of 2 337 million BGN or 2.8% of GDP. The Government Debt of Bulgaria for 2014 is 22 694 million BGN or 27.6% of GDP.
As of 31 December 2014 the population of Bulgaria is 7 202 198 persons or 1.4% of the EU population. Compared to 2013, the population of the country decreases by 43 479 persons.
There are 67 585 live born children in 2014. The number of live births increases by 1 007 children compared to the previous year.
The number of dead persons is 108 952 and the crude mortality rate - 15.1‰. Compared to the previous year the number of dead people increases by 4 607.
The annual total income average per household member in 2014 is 4 813 BGN or the same compared to 2013.
Bulgarian households are spent 4 509 BGN per person in 2014, which is 1.0% more compared to 2013.
The consumption of main food products average per household member decreases in 2014.
The consumer price index in March 2015 compared to February 2015 was 100.4%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.4%.
The average price per one decar agricultural land in Bulgaria reached 684 BGN in 2014, which was 15.2% higher than this in 2013. The average rent price per one decar hired/leased agricultural land in 2014 reached 41 BGN, which was by 7.9% higher with comparison to 2013.
In January 2015 the Bulgarian exports to the EU increased by 16.7% compared to the same month of the previous year and amounted to 2.3 Billion BGN while the imports increased insignificantly and added up to 2.3 Billion BGN.
