According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute at the end of September 2020 the number of employees under labour contract increased by 0.4% as compared to the end of June 2020 and reached 2.25 million.
In the third quarter of 2020 in comparison with the second quarter of 2020 the average monthly wages and salaries increased by 2.7% getting 1 373 BGN.
In the period January - August 2020 the exports of goods from Bulgarian to the EU decreased by 6.7% in comparison to the same period of 2019 and amounted to 23 245.7 Million BGN while the imports of goods to Bulgaria from the EU dropped by 12.3% and reached 23 222.5 Million BGN.
In August 2020 the exports of goods to the EU decreased by 8.6% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 2 797.3 Million BGN while the imports of goods dropped by 10.5% and added up to 2 828.5 Million BGN.
In the period January - September 2020 the exports of goods from Bulgaria to third countries decreased by 11.2% compared to the same period of 2019 and amounted to 13 639.6 Million BGN while the imports of goods from third countries dropped by 12.1% and added up to 16 636.2 Million BGN.
In the period January - September 2020 the total value of all exported goods to third countries and EU amounted to 40 069.2 Million BGN, which is 7.7% less than the same period of the previous year, while the total value of all imported goods from third countries and EU added up to 43 105.5 Million BGN and dropped by 11.3%.
In September 2020, during the continuing epidemic situation, 2 589 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed-places were functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 102.9 thousand and the bed-places were 227.2 thousand. In comparison with September 2019, the total number of accommodation establishments (functioned during the period) decreased by 11.5%, and the bed-places in them - by 22.9%.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in September 2020 was 1 787.2 thousand, or by 42.3% less in comparison with the same month of the previous year.
The total revenues from nights spent in September 2020 reached 88.1 million BGN or by 47.1% less compared to September 2019.
According to the preliminary data, in September 2020 the index of production in section ‘Construction’ calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data was 1.5% above the level of the previous month. In September 2020 the working day adjusted index of production in construction decreased by 1.7% in comparison with the same month of 2019.
According to the preliminary seasonally adjusted data in September 2020 the turnover in ‘Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles’ at constant prices increased by 2.8% compared to the previous month.
According to the preliminary data in September 2020 the Industrial Production Index, seasonally adjusted, increased by 2.3% as compared to August 2020. In September 2020 the working day adjusted Industrial Production Index fell by 2.6% in comparison with the same month of 2019.
According to preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute in the third quarter of 2020 the number of newly built residential buildings was 879 and the newly built dwellings in them were 3 912. Compared to the third quarter of 2019 the buildings were by 91 more (or by 11.5%) and the newly built dwellings in them increased by 928 or by 31.1%.
In October 2020, the total consumer confidence indicator increases by 0.8 percentage points compared to its level 3 months ago, which is due entirely to the increased confidence among the urban population.
