Business Conjuncture, October 2010
In October the business conjuncture in the country has improved. The total business climate indicator increases by 1.9 percentage points in comparison with its September level due to the more favorable compared to the previous month business climate in retail trade and service sector.
Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in September 2010
In September 2010, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 354.8 thousand, which was 21.4% less than the number of the trips in September 2009. In September 2010, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 1 018.5 thousand or 8.1% more than the number of trips in the corresponding month of 2009.
Deficit and Debt of General Government Sector in 2009
On the basis of final data of the National Statistical Institute the General Government Sector reported in 2009 government deficit of 3 210.7 million BGN or 4.7% of GDP.
The Government Debt of Bulgaria for 2009 is 10057 million BGN or 14.7% of GDP.
Market Price Indices of Dwellings for the Third Quarter of 2010
The market price index of the dwellings for the third quarter of 2010 compared to the second quarter of 2010 was 98.8%, i.e. the average decrease of the market prices of the dwellings was 1.2%.
Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in September 2010
The consumer price index (CPI) in September 2010 compared to August 2010 was 100.8%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.8%.
The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) in September 2010 compared to August 2010 was 100.2%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.2%.
Crimes Concluded with Penalty Inflicted and Persons Convicted in First Semester of 2010
According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute for the first semester of 2010, the trials ended with inflicted penalty cover 14 656 committed crimes, which present 1.4% less in comparison with the same period of 2009. The number of persons convicted with penalties come into force amounted to 15 930. In comparison with the same period of 2009 decrease is observed by 3.4%.
Construction Production Indices in August 2010
According to the preliminary data of the NSI, the production in section ‘Construction’, calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data, registered an increase by 1.6% compared to the previous month. In August 2010 working day adjusted data showed a drop by 11.6% in the construction production, compared to the same month of 2009.
Turnover Indices in ‘Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles’ in August of 2010
The preliminary seasonally adjusted data of NSI in August 2010 showed that the turnover at constant prices in Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles was with 0.3% under the rate of the previous month.
Industrial Production Indices and Industrial Turnover Indices in August 2010
The preliminary data showed that the Industrial Production Index, seasonally adjusted increased by 1.1% in August 2010 as compared to July 2009. In August 2010 working day adjusted Industrial Production Index rose by 3.7% as compared to the same month of 2009.
Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries for the Period January - August 2010 (preliminary data)
During the period January - August 2010 the Bulgarian exports to third countries increased by 48.4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 7.5 billion levs
Bulgarian imports from third countries for the first eight months of 2010 increased by 10.2% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 9.7 billion levs.
During the period January - August 2010 the total exported goods were for 19.2 billion levs and compared to the corresponding period of 2009 the exports increased by 32.2% while the total imported goods for the same period were for 23.2 billion levs (at CIF prices) or by 7.3% more compared to the previous year.
