Activity of Accommodation Establishments in January 2013

In January 2013, 1 791 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed places were functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 52.0 thousands and the bed-places were 103.4 thousands. In comparison with January 2012 the total number of accommodation establishments increased by 8.0% and the bed-places in them - by 3.9%.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments in January 2013 amounted to 644.1 thousands or by 5.0% more in comparison with the same month of the previous year. The total revenues from nights spent reached 29.8 million BGN or by 0.8% more compared to January 2012.

Bulgarian Trade with EU for 2012 (preliminary data)

In 2012 the Bulgarian exports to the EU decreased by 3.6% compared to 2011 and amounted to 23.8 Billion Levs while the imports increased by 7.5% and added up to 29.2 Billion Levs.
In December 2012 the exports to the EU decreased by 10.0% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 1.7 Billion Levs while the imports decreased by 7.9% and added up to 2.2 Billion Levs.

Gross Domestic Product for the Fourth Quarter of 2012 and Preliminary Data for 2012

In the fourth quarter of 2012 GDP at current prices amounts to 21 085 million Levs. In Euro terms GDP reaches 10 780 million Euro in total and 1 478 Euro per person. According to the seasonally adjusted figures, the GDP growth rate in the fourth quarter of 2012 is 0.5 % compared to the same quarter of the previous year and remains at the same level compared to the third quarter of 2012.

Production and Deliveries of Energy Products, January 2013 (preliminary data)

Production of electricity in January 2013 compared to December 2012 increases by 0.1%. A decrease is reported for the production of solid fuels by 8.0%, liquefied petroleum gases - by 30.0%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 11.4%, transport diesel - by 20.3% and natural gas - by 7.4%.

Deliveries of electricity in January 2013 compared to December 2012 increase by 3.2%. A decrease is reported for the deliveries of solid fuels by 8.2%, liquefied petroleum gases - by 17.2%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 52.4%, transport diesel - by 35.9% and natural gas - by 0.3%.

Producer Price Indices in Industry, January 2013

Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in January 2013 decreased by 0.8% compared to the previous month, while compared to the same month of 2012 the domestic prices grew by 2.6%. Total Producer Price Index fell by 0.5% compared to the previous month, compared to the same month of 2012 the prices went up by 1.8%.

Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in January 2013

In January 2013 the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 266.2 thousand or by 9.3% more than the previous month and by 5.3% above the registered in January 2012. The trips with other purposes (as guest, education and visit the cultural and sport events) composed the greatest share of the total number of trips of Bulgarian residents abroad - 60.4%, followed by the trips with professional purpose - 22.4% and with holiday and recreation purposes - 17.2%.
Тhe number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 351.7 thousand which was by 11.4% less compared to December 2012 and by 4.3% above the level from January 2012. An increase in the visit with holiday and recreation purpose - by 7.2% and with professional purpose - by 7.4% was registered, while the arrivals with other purposes decreased by 8.2%.
