Regional GDP per capita ranged from 32% to 260% of the EU average in 2019.
In December 2020 compared to November 2020 an increase is reported for the production of solid fuels - by 12.9% and electricity - by 6.9%. A decrease is reported for the production of unleaded motor gasoline - by 4.3%, transport diesel - by 1.0% and natural gas - by 20.0%. No change for the production of liquefied petroleum gases.
In December 2020 compared to November 2020 an increase is reported for the deliveries of solid fuels - by 12.4%, natural gas - by 18.9% and electricity - by 10.0%. A decrease is reported for the deliveries of liquefied petroleum gases - by 13.5% and unleaded motor gasoline - by 18.4%. No change for the deliveries of transport diesel.
According to preliminary data during the fourth quarter of 2020 in comparison with the same quarter of 2019 the goods carried and the transport performance by the freight land and water transport increased.
In the fourth quarter of 2020 there was a decrease both in the transported passengers (by 38.0%) and the transport performance (by 53.2%) from the passenger transport (land, water and urban electrical transport) compared to the same period of the previous year.
In January 2021, during the continuing epidemic situation in the country, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 303.7 thousand, or by 28.2% under the registered in January 2020.

According to the preliminary data for the fourth quarter of 2020 the total turnover index in section ‘Transportation, storage and post’, calculated on the basis of seasonally adjusted data increased by 8.7% compared to the third quarter of 2020. In section ‘Information and communication’ the turnover index increased by 0.7%.
