Construction Production Indices in January 2024
In January 2024, the index of production in the ‘Construction’ section increased by 1.0% compared to the previous month. The data are preliminary and seasonally adjusted.
The calendar-adjusted data showed an increase of 0.7% in construction production compared to the same month of 2023.

In 2023, GDP at current prices, calculated as a sum of the quarters, is 183 743.4 million BGN. Preliminary data show an increase of GDP for 2023 in real terms by 1.8% compared to 2022.

According to the preliminary data, GDP per person employed increased in real terms by 0.7% in the fourth quarter of 2023 compared to the same quarter of the previous year.

According to the preliminary data, GDP per person employed increased in real terms by 0.9% in 2023 compared to 2022.
Activity of accommodation establishments in 2023
In 2023, 4 019 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with 10 or more bed-places, functioned in the country with 157.2 thousand rooms and 359.9 thousand bed-places in them. In comparison with 2022, the accommodation establishments decreased by 0.3% and the bed-places in them increased by 1.4%.
The total number of nights spent was 26.9 million, or by 11.1% more in comparison with the previous year, and the number of arrivals in all accommodation establishments increased by 13.4% and reached 8.6 million.
The total revenues from nights spent reached 2 080.2 million BGN, or by 24.1% more compared to a year before.

Turnover Indices in ‘Retail trade, except motor vehicles and motorcycles’, January 2024
In January 2024, the turnover in ‘Retail trade, except motor vehicles and motorcycles’ at constant prices increased by 0.3% compared to the previous month. The data are preliminary and seasonally adjusted.
Аn increase was observed in the non-food products (except fuel) and in the food, beverages and tobacco - by 2.2% and 0.2%, respectively. A downgrade was registered in the automotive fuel - by 5.3%.
The calendar-adjusted turnover kept the level of the same month in 2023.
А decrease was registered in the automotive fuel in specialised stores - by 13.2%, and in non-food products (except fuel) - by 0.5%, while in the food, beverages and tobacco was observed an increase - by 6.3%.
General government expenditure by function (COFOG) in 2022
In 2022, expenditures amounting to 69 397,28 BGN million were reported.
The data of the 'General Government' sector are developed using the reports on the implementation of the consolidated fiscal program provided by the Ministry of Finance, as well as assessments of the government enterprises reclassified in the sector.

Fiscal data by 'Central Government' and 'Social Security Funds' subsectors, January 2024
For January 2024, revenues of the subsector ‘Central Govermnent’ were reported in the amount of BGN 3 973.26 million and expenditures - BGN 4 104.52 million, and for the subsector ‘Social Security Funds’ the revenues amounted to BGN 2 585.94 million, and the expenditures are BGN 2 403.65 million.
The data of the ‘Central Government’ subsector are formed on the basis of the monthly cash statements of the budget units, as well as estimates of the state enterprises reclassified in the subsector, and the data of the ‘Social Security Funds’ subsector - on the basis of the monthly cash statements of the National Insurance Institute and the National Health Insurance Fund.

Services Producer Price Indices, Fourth Quarter of 2023
In the fourth quarter of 2023, the largest increase in Service prices compared to the previous quarter was recorded in Cleaning activities - by 7.7%. A decrease in prices was registered in Sea and coastal water transport - by 5.8%.

Producer Price Indices in Industry, January 2024
The Total Producer Price Index in Industry fell by 1.8% in January 2024 compared to the previous month. Lower prices were registered in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 6.5%, in the mining and quarrying industry by 2.6%, and in the manufacturing industry by 0.2%.
The Producer Price Index on the Domestic Market decreased by 1.8% in January 2024 compared to December 2023. The domestic prices went down in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 5.7%, and in the mining and quarrying industry by 1.9%. In the manufacturing industry, the prices grew by 0.4%.
The Total Producer Price Index went down by 14.2% in January 2024 compared to the same month in 2023. There was a considerable decrease in prices in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 39.3%, in the mining and quarrying industry by 7.1%, and in the manufacturing industry by 1.1%.
The Producer Price Index on the Domestic Market fell by 17.8% compared to January 2023. A drop was reported in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 36.8%, in the mining and quarrying industry by 8.2%, and in the manufacturing industry by 0.8%.
