The NSI welcomes the Heads of the EU Statistical Offices

Bulgaria will host the 96th Conference of the Directors General of the National Statistical Institutes of the EU Member States (DGINS) and the 6th European Statistical System Committee (ESSC) meeting from 29th September to 1st October 2010. The main theme of the Conference this year is “Measuring Progress, Well-being and Sustainable Development”. The meeting will be held in Boyana Residence.
The Heads of the Statistical Offices of the EU Member States, Eurostat and representatives of a number of international organizations such as UN, IMF, and ECB and also representatives of the EU candidate countries and the Western Balkan countries will take part in the most important for the European Statistical System event this year.
Among the main participants are Mr. Walter Radermacher – Director–General, Eurostat, Mr. Gert-Jan Koopman, Director for Economic Services and Structural Reforms, DG ECFIN, Ms. Denise Lievesley – Chair, European Statistical Advisory Committee (ESAC), Ms. Martine Durand - Chief Statistician, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and Ms. Lidia Bratanova – Director, UNECE Statistical Division and other.
Provisional working meetings will be conducted on 29th September, while the Conference will be opened officially on 30th September from 9:00h, at which the Prime Minister of Bulgaria - Mr. Boyko Borissov will be present.
