On February 6, at a press conference at the National Statistical Institute (NSI), the results of the project ‘Bringing NSI Information Assets in Accordance with Eurostat Requirements and Migration to HPC’, financed under the Operational Program ‘Good Governance’ were presented.

The press conference was attended by Mr. Sergei Tsvetarsky - President of the NSI, Ms. Diana Yancheva - Deputy President of the NSI, Mr. Yuri Stamenov - Director of Information Systems and Infrastructure Directorate and project manager, as well as team members.

By the end of the 18-month period of the contract No. BG05SFOP001-1.002-0008-C01, the main objectives and indicators have already been covered.

The NSI's information assets have been brought into line with the requirements of BDS ISO/IEC 27001 ‘Information security management systems’ regarding the provision of server infrastructure, storage infrastructure, backup and management software, and network components.

The total value of the project is BGN 1 566 401.43, of which BGN 1 331 441.22 is European and BGN 234 960.21 is national co-financing.

The NSI already possesses a new information infrastructure in line with Eurostat and BDS ISO/IEC 27001 standard, thus increasing the capacity and capabilities of the State Hybrid Private Cloud. Information security has been improved.

The project ‘Bringing NSI’s Information Assets in Accordance with Eurostat Requirements and Migration to HPC’ is part of the first stage of the Roadmap for Implementation of the Strategy for Development of e-Governance in the Republic of Bulgaria for the period 2016-2020 under Priority Axis 1 ‘Administrative service and management’ of the Good Governance OP. It helps to overcome some of the main challenges to the introduction of eGovernment, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of the NSI’s information arrays.
