Publications

The National Statistical Institute presents to users of statistical information in the field of the social statistics the annual electronic publication Health Services 2023 (in Bulgarian), a joint edition of the National Statistical Institute and the National Center of Public Health and Analyses at the Ministry of Health.

The data sources are the statistical surveys carried out by the both institutions.

In the publication data are systematized as follows:

The first Statistical Yearbook with data for 1908 consists of 525 pages. Its data are divided into 16 sections - Territory and Population, Economic Life, Roads and Facilities, Legislative Elections, Government, Military, Books and Art, Medicine, Education, Justice, Accidents, and others. The Statistical Yearbook is bilingual - in Bulgarian and French.

The National Statistical Institute offers to the attention of users and respondents the leaflet "Household Budget Survey".

The observation of household budgets is the oldest sample statistical study in Bulgaria, conducted annually since 1953. It provides information on the income, expenses, consumption and other elements of the population's living standard over the years.

The National Statistical Institute informs the users of statistical information that issue 1 for 2023 of the ‘Statistics’ journal is published on the NSI website. The publication is in Bulgarian with summaries in Bulgarian, English and Russian and includes the following rubrics:

• Statistical Research and Data Analysis
• Business intelligent systems and artificial intelligence
• Statistics for everyone

The NSI annual electronic bilingual publication Crimes and Persons Convicted 2022, containing data on crimes with penalty inflicted, accused persons and persons convicted is available for users of statistical information.

The issue includes data about the activity of district, regional and military courts as well as Specialized Criminal Court in penal cases of a general, private and administrative nature. Comparable data on crimes with penalty inflicted, as well as persons convicted with sentences in force for 1991 - 2022 period are also presented.

The NSI’s annual electronic publication, Population and Demographic Processes 2022, is available for users of statistical information.

The issue is bilingual (Bulgarian and English) and contains detailed statistical information about the demographic state of the Republic of Bulgaria during the year 2022. Data for the number and structure of the population and for its natural movement and internal migration are published in the issue.

The National Statistical Institute has the pleasure of presenting users of statistical information with its new electronic publication, Book publishing and Press 2022.
The publication contains statistical information on the development of publishing activity in Bulgaria by main indicators for 2022.

Data by some indicators, such as: titles; circulation; average circulation of books, pamphlets, newspapers, magazines and bulletins for the period 1960 - 2022, are also included. The publication includes methodology notes and a brief analysis.

The National Statistical Institute presents to the attention of users interested in social statistics the newest annual bilingual (Bulgarian and English) electronic publication Education in the Republic of Bulgaria 2023.

The publication contains main data from the five carried out annual comprehensive statistical surveys, which characterizing the activity of educational institutions in Bulgaria for the period from 2018/2019 to 2022/2023 school (academic) years.
