Statistical Reference Book 2025

The publication ‘Statistical Reference Book 2025’ is free and accessible for the users of statistical information in electronic format on the website of NSI.

The publication provides up-to-date information on the demographic processes and on the socio-economic and cultural life in the Republic of Bulgaria for the
2020 - 2024 period.

The presented information characterizes the national economy on macro level - Gross domestic product, investments, finances, balance of payments, as well as on separate economic activities - industry, agriculture, forestry, transport, communications, trade and others. In separate sections is published information on health, education, science, culture and arts, justice, tourism, energy, geographic characteristics and climate and environment.

The regional data are presented by districts according to the Administrative and territorial structure of the Republic of Bulgaria act, while the territorial units for statistical purposes, i.e. ‘Statistical zones’ and ‘Statistical regions’, are presented according to the Classification of Territorial Units for Statistics in Bulgaria that corresponds to Eurostat’s NUTS classification.

The Reference book is intended for a wide range of users, including bodies and institutions that develop and implement the country's economic and social policy, non-governmental organizations, students, applicants for university and pupils, as well as for the general public.

The data for 2024 are preliminary and will be reviewed and updated in the next NSI editions.
