Labour Force Survey 2025 leaflet

The National Statistical Institute brings to the attention of users and respondents the leaflet ‘Labour Force Survey’. The publication presents a description of the methodology of the Labour Force Survey - the definition of the sample and the method of data collection, the main concepts and definitions used in the survey, the calculation of indicators and the dissemination of information.

The Labour Force Survey is the largest regular household sample survey conducted in the Republic of Bulgaria. It provides information on the economic activity of the population - employment and unemployment, in accordance with internationally accepted concepts and definitions. On the basis of the monitoring data, some of the most important indicators of the economic and social development of the country are calculated - the coefficients of economic activity, employment and unemployment.

The information is used by a wide range of users - the government, trade unions, businesses, scientific organizations and institutes, a number of international organizations, as well as other citizens.
