'ESA2010 and BPM6 implementation, quality improvements, and execution of the GNI control cycle' project

'ESA2010 and BPM6 implementation, quality improvements, and execution of the GNI control cycle' project

Since January 2024, the National Statistical Institute has started working on the ‘Implementation of ESA2010 and BPM6, quality improvements, and execution of the GNI control cycle’ project under grant agreement No. 101143327 – 2023-BG-NA with the European Commission.

The National Accounts Statistics is of crucial importance for policy-making and administrative purposes, which requires good quality of these data and the transparency of the sources and methods used for their compilation to be guaranteed.

The project aims to support the introduction of improvements in the quality and performance of the Gross National Income control cycle, as well as the voluntary provision of data to the users, using the good experience and practices in the field of statistics hitherto.

A long-term impact will be the ensuring of comparability of the methods used at national level for data collection and analysis and the interpretation of the methodologies applied by the European Statistical System. This in turn will improve the quality of the data provided to Eurostat through the annual questionnaires and will improve the comparability with data from the other EU countries.

The duration of the activities is 16 months and they will end in April 2025.
