The President of the National Statistical Institute, Assoc. Prof. Atanas Atanasov, PhD, awarded certificates to two trainees, who have been working in the NSI under the IPA 2022 Multi-beneficiary statistical Cooperation Programme.
Aneta Kostevska, adviser in the office of the Director-General of the State Statistical Office of the Republic of North Macedonia and Hydai Morina, senior data analyst at the Kosovo Agency of Statistics, underwent a three-month traineeship at the NSI in the fields of “Quality Management” and “Statistics on Income and Living Conditions”, respectfully. The closing meeting was attended by the Director of the Multi-Domain Statistics, Methodology and Registers Directorate, Antoaneta Ilkova, and the Head of the Statistics on Living Conditions Department, Desislava Dimitrova, as well as experts from the International Relations and Projects Department.
“I am glad that you trusted the NSI as an institution in which to gain new experience and knowledge. Through the cooperation with your mentors, you contributed to the ongoing work of the Institute and took advantage of the opportunity to acquire skills in a new institutional environment. We believe, that the experience, you will take with you, will support your future work and further strengthen the statistical systems of your countries.” – noted Assoc. Prof. Atanasov, during the meeting. He expressed special thanks to the mentors from the NSI - Maya Ivanova, Acting Head of the Metadata, Methodology and Registers Management Department and Rasim Ryustem, state expert in the Statistics on Living Conditions Department.
The two trainees shared, that their three-month experience in Bulgarian statistics has been exceptionally beneficial for their future work and that they will apply the acquired knowledge in practice in their respective countries, which will contribute towards the harmonisation of their national statistical systems with the best European standards and practices.
