The Deputy President of the National Statistical Institute, Diana Yancheva, will take part in the second meeting of the European Statistical Forum

On September 17, 2014 in Bratislava, Slovakia, will be held the second meeting of the European Statistical Forum, in which the Deputy President of the National Statistical Institute, Mrs. Diana Yancheva, will take part. Hosts of the event are the National Bank and the National Statistical Institute of Slovakia.

The European Statistical Forum is a newly-created body in the relations between the European Statistical System (ESS) and the European System of Central Banks (ESCB). The Forum was established by the Memorandum of Understanding, signed on April 24, 2013 by ESS and ESCB members. Its aim is to further strengthen cooperation at strategic level in areas of shared responsibility of common interest, such as balance of payments, trade in services, national accounts and government finance statistics.

On the agenda of the upcoming meeting are included topics for discussion on Balance of payment statistics, globalisation indicators, income, consumption and wealth statistics.

The National Statistical Institute (NSI) is a state institution in Bulgaria that collects, processes and disseminates official statistical information on social, economic and demographic processes in the country. The NSI's activities are aimed at providing objective and reliable data that support informed decision-making by the state, business and society. The Institute works in accordance with international statistical standards and is an active participant in the European Statistical System.
