The National Statistical Institute (NSI) is a state institution in Bulgaria that collects, processes and disseminates official statistical information on social, economic and demographic processes in the country. The NSI's activities are aimed at providing objective and reliable data that support informed decision-making by the state, business and society. The Institute works in accordance with international statistical standards and is an active participant in the European Statistical System.
Internet access to the results of Population Censuses in 1881 and 1885
The library of the National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria (BNSI) has the pleasure to inform the users of statistical information about the opportunity of on–line access to "Population Census 1881" and "Population Census 1885".
The library of NSI published on Internet 2306 digital pages. The editions contain statistical data about population by age, marriage status, profession and nationality by regions and settlements in Kingdom of Bulgaria and Eastern Roumelia. They provide also information about mother tongue and religion of the population.
The first population census in 1881 is in Bulgarian and French.
