NSI will hold a Statistical Datathon for students

The National Statistical Institute announces the first edition of the Statistical Datathon for students. Registration opens on April 24 and runs through May 8, 2023.

According to the regulations, it will be a team competition and students from 10th to 12th grade all over the country will be eligible to participate. NSI Datathon 2023 will be held in two rounds. The first round will include solving a case study on the topic "The influence of physical activity on the health status of the population in Bulgaria", and it will be possible to use only data from NSI: www.nsi.bg and Eurostat: Database - Eurostat (www.europa.eu).

After the first round, a jury will determine the first 30 teams that will continue their participation in the second round. It will be held in present at a location to be determined further. In the second round, the teams within 48 hours have to develop a theme on a topic announced at the beginning of the competition. Participants must present their developed theme to the jury.

The first three teams will receive money prize:

  • For first place - BGN 500 for each member of the team;
  • For second place - BGN 300 for each member of the team;
  • For third place - BGN 200 for each member of the team.
