On May 31, 2017 at a press conference in the National Statistical Institute (NSI) a project ‘Implementation of CAIS1 ‘Single entry point’ for submission of annual financial statements and statistics in machine-readable format and integration with the NRA, NSI, RA (TR)’ was presented. The project is implemented with the financial support of Operational Programme ‘Good Governance’ (OPGG) 2014 - 2020 financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund.

The main objective of the project is providing automated exchange of data in machine-readable format between National Statistical Institute (NSI) and Revenue Agency (RA) through an upgrade of Information System ‘Business Statistics’ (ISBS) and integration with the Information System of Trade Register. As a result of successful implementation of the project, the administrative burden on businesses will be reduced by enabling all respondents to submit annual financial statements (AFS) in a single place at the state administration (ISBS in the NSI).

Mrs. Diana Yancheva, Deputy President of the NSI, made a review of all initiatives and ongoing projects of NSI in the frame of OPGG and underlined the importance of one of the main principles of e-governance for single data collection and its multiple uses as laid down in the E-Government Act.

Mrs. Yancheva thanks for the understanding and support of the Operational Programme “Good Governance”, for the funding provided for this and other projects, which will enable to rejuvenate the institution's hardware, to meet the highest standards of information security and to widen the current Single entry point between NSI and NRA by inclusion of RA.

Mr. Anastas Troianski, Project Manager and Director of ‘Business Statistics’ Directorate, stressed that the submission of annual financial statements is among the most frequently used administrative services in the country and by joining the RA to the ‘Single entry point’, over 300 000 legally obliged entities and traders will be able to fulfil their obligations to RA for publication of AFS (no queues, no loss of working hours and cost of paper and toner). The project outcomes will be sustainably used after their completion without need of any further additional funding.

Duration of the project is 18 months (13 March 2017 - 12 September 2018) and it amounts to 594 100 BGN.
