Bulgarian experts will train Ukrainian statisticians in the field of National Accounts

An expert training will be held from 2 to 4 August 2011 in Kiev (Ukraine), requested by the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine. It is organized by the European Commission under the Technical Assistance Information Exchange Instrument (TAIEX) for the implementation of the acquis.
On behalf of NSI trainers will be Elka Atanasova, Director, Macroeconomic Statistics Directorate, and Elena Bakalova, State Expert, Non-financial National Accounts Department to the same Directorate.

For the first time a delegation from the NSI will visit the Department of Statistics of Jordan

From 2 to 5 August 2011 a delegation from the NSI, led by Assoc. Prof. Mariana Kotzeva will pay an official visit to the Department of Statistics of Jordan.
The reason for the visit is the conclusion of an Agreement for cooperation between the National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria and the Department of Statistics of Jordan in the field of statistics.

New section "Sustainable Development" in the NSI website

The National Statistical Institute offers to the attention of its users the new developed websection "Sustainable Development".
The indicators are counted 64, grouped into 10 themes, affecting economic, social, environmental and institutional issues related to sustainable development. Their selection is based on 14 criteria related to data relevance, quality, validity, and others.

Bulgarian experts will train Ukrainian statisticians in the field of Business Statistics

Diana Yancheva, Director, Business Statistics Directorate, and Gergana Maeva, State Expert, Short-term Statistics Department, will train their colleagues from the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine on 18-21 July 2011 in Kiev.
During the 4-day expert mission, EU Requirements and NSI practice related to the annual Structural Business Statistics (SBS) survey and the monthly and quarterly Short-term Statistics (STS) surveys will be presented.
The main topics of the training will be:

Sofia hosts the Joint Bulgarian National Bank, National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria and Eurostat course on Government Finance Statistics

On 11th of July in Sofia starts joint Eurostat, BNB and NSI training course on Government Finance Statistics.
The course is divided into two parts. The first part is from 11 to 15 July, and the second part from 21 to 25 of November. The main topics are
• European legislation related to general government statistics;
• System of national accounts – overview, institutional units according to ESA; transactions and stocks of government;

NSI expert is a trainer in an international training course for the Balkan countries in the field of Business Statistics

Elena Petrova, expert in the NSI Business Statistics Directorate, together with her Dutch colleague Nino Platteel, is training statisticians from the National Statistical Offices of the Balkan countries. It is a three-day training course and is carried out in Cologne, Germany, on 4-6 July 2011. The course organizer is ICON-INSTITUT Public Sector GmbH – Germany, which manages statistical cooperation programmes through the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) of the European Commission.
