General information

Graduated with a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Sofia, Yavor Georgiev joined the NSI team in early 2025 as a senior expert in the Information and Communication Infrastructure Department, and since May he has held the position of head of the department.

Before joining NSI, Yavor gained wide experience in project management, optimizing and digitalizing production and business processes, risk management, and developing and ensuring the quality of software solutions as part of the IT team of high-tech companies in highly regulated industries - the manufacture of medical electronic implantable devices and electronic sensors and systems.

Yavor is a certified Scrum Master (PSM I) with interests in the field of decision-making based on the analysis of large volumes of data using machine learning methods and artificial intelligence tools.

The National Statistical Institute (NSI) is a state institution in Bulgaria that collects, processes and disseminates official statistical information on social, economic and demographic processes in the country. The NSI's activities are aimed at providing objective and reliable data that support informed decision-making by the state, business and society. The Institute works in accordance with international statistical standards and is an active participant in the European Statistical System.
