The ‘International Relations and Projects’ Department shall perform  the following functions:

1. organize and coordinate joint activities with the statistical office of the European Union (EU) - Eurostat;

2. organize and coordinate international activities and maintain operational contact with EU institutions, as well as with partner institutions and international organizations;

3. plan, coordinate and administer the implementation of projects financed with targeted funds from the European Commission for the production of national and European statistical information, programs and projects for targeted administrative cooperation with candidate countries for EU membership, and projects of other international institutions or organizations;

4. coordinate and support the participation of NSI representatives in meetings of working groups and committees, seminars, conferences and training activities;

5. organize and coordinate the process of preparing and signing cooperation agreements with national statistical institutes of countries within and outside the European Union;

6. organize the work of Working Group 12 'Statistics' under the Council for European Affairs (CEА), by coordinating the preparation and alignment of framework positions, written opinions and guidelines on European legislation with the relevant institutions at national level and submitting them to the EU institutions in their competence;

7. maintain the exchange of information through the EUnet and InfraSolv information systems.
