In March 2009 the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad were 403 718 and decreased by 15.1% in comparison with March 2008. Arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria in March 2009 were 334 417 and decreased by 7.3% in comparison with the same month of 2008.

The National Statistical Institute (NSI) is a state institution in Bulgaria that collects, processes and disseminates official statistical information on social, economic and demographic processes in the country.
