Production and deliveries of energy products - December 2025

In December 2025, compared to November 2025, the largest increase in the production of energy products was observed in liquefied petroleum gases - by 33.3%. A decrease was registered only in transport diesel - by 5.2%.

For the deliveries of energy products the largest increase was observed in motor gasoline - by 28.6%. A decrease was registered only in liquefied petroleum gases - by 5.0%.

Production of energy products

In December 2025, compared to November 2025, an increase was reported in the production of:

• liquefied petroleum gases - by 33.3% to 4 thousand tonnes;
• electricity - by 32.6% to 3 673 GWh;
• solid fuels - by 16.4% to 1 821 thousand tonnes;
• motor gasoline - by 9.5% to 92 thousand tonnes.

A decrease was reported in the production of transport diesel - by 5.2% to 164 thousand tonnes.  

There was no change in the production of natural gas (Annex, Table 1).

Compared to the same month of 2024, a decrease was reported in the production of:

• transport diesel - by 41.0%;
• motor gasoline - by 39.1%;
• solid fuels - by 21.0%;
• liquefied petroleum gases - by 20.0%;
• electricity - by 3.9%.

No change was reported in the production of natural gas.

Deliveries of energy products

In December 2025, compared to November 2025, an increase was reported in the deliveries of:

• motor gasoline - by 28.6% to 63 thousand tonnes;
• electricity - by 19.6% to 3 570 GWh;
• natural gas - by 18.5% to 314 million m³;
• solid fuels - by 17.6% to 1 914 thousand tonnes;
• transport diesel - by 1.3% to 232 thousand tonnes (Annex, Table 2).

A decrease was reported in the deliveries of liquefied petroleum gases - by 5.0% to 38 thousand tonnes.  

Compared to the same month of 2024, an increase was reported in the deliveries of:

• motor gasoline - by 53.7%;
• transport diesel - by 10.5%;
• liquefied petroleum gases - by 8.6%;
• natural gas - by 6.1%;
• electricity - by 0.4%.

A decrease was reported in the deliveries of solid fuels - by 17.9%.

Methodological notes

The survey on energy products is conducted every month in accordance with Regulation (ЕU) No. 1099/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 October 2008 on energy statistics and its amendments. The survey aims to submit information on the production and inland deliveries of the main energy products - electricity, solid fuels, natural gas and petroleum products. The reporting units are producers, importers and exporters of energy products. Production and deliveries of energy products are the main observed indicators.

Solid fuels

Production - includes hard coal, lignite and solid fuels from coal. Producers report quantities calculated after any operation for the removal of inert matter.

Deliveries - it is calculated as: production + imports – exports + stock change.

Since 1.01.2017, Brown coal briquettes have been excluded from the monthly survey.

Petroleum products

Production - includes production of finished products at a refinery or blending plant.

Deliveries - wholesale deliveries to the domestic market of finished petroleum products from producers and importers/exporters.

Deliveries of petroleum products are defined as: primary product receipts + gross refinery output + recycled products − refinery fuel + imports − exports − international marine bunkers + interproduct transfers − products transferred − stock changes.

The production and deliveries of motor gasoline and transport diesel include the quantity of biofuel, mixed with the mineral fuel.

Natural gas

Production - includes all dry marketable production within national boundaries, including offshore production. Production is measured after purification and extraction of NGLs and sulphur. Excludes extraction losses and quantities reinjected, vented or flared. Includes quantities used within the natural gas industry; in gas extraction, pipeline systems and processing plants.

Deliveries - total natural gas, distributed for the internal market, including own use and losses.

Data are presented in million cubic meters assuming reference gas conditions 15^°С and 101.325 kPa. To convert quantities from cubic meters at 20°C to cubic meters at 15°C - according to the reporting requirements of Regulation (EU) No. 1099/2008 of the European Parliament and the Council on Energy Statistics, we use a conversion factor of 0.98294.

Electricity

Production - includes produced electricity from thermal power plants, nuclear power plants, hydropower plants, pumped storage plants and electricity, obtained from wind generators and solar panels.

Deliveries/Total net consumption - the sum of the net produced electricity and net import, reduced by the amount used for pumped storage.
