The President of NSI participated in a meeting dedicated to statistical leadership

Assoc. Prof. Atanas Atanasov, PhD, President of the National Statistical Institute, participated in “The Statistical Leadership in Emerging Digital Societies" meeting that took place in Stockholm last week. Organizers of the forum are Statistics Sweden and Eurostat. The meeting of the presidents and the directors general of the statistical institutes took place as part of the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The Business Statistics Information System now allows the submission of annual reports for previous years

IMPORTANT: The Business Statistics Information System now allows the submission of annual reports for previous years (2019, 2020 and 2021) for which the official submission deadline has already passed.

Only certain surveys allow submission after the official deadline (The list of these surveys is available after logging in at: https://isbs.nsi.bg).

If you missed submitting a report for any of these years, you can do so now. Editing old reports is not allowed.

Four teams will represent Bulgaria at the European Statistics Competition

Two teams in the two categories, ‘DATAWAVE’ from the National Trade and Banking High School, Sofia, and ‘TEAM-PRО’ from the Professional Secondary School of Economics and Management, Pazardzhik, won first place in the public hearing, the final stage for participation in the European round of the Statistical Competition. The second place went respectively to the team ‘ANDROMEDA’ from the NSMHS ‘Akad. Boyan Petkanchin’, Haskovo, in category A, and to ‘VELOCITY’, the team of the Secondary School for Foreign Languages ‘Vassil Karagyozov’, Yambol, in category B.

World Health Day is celebrated every year on April 7, the date on which the World Health Organization (WHO) was established in 1948.

This year, the WHO celebrates 75 years since its founding.

Each year, a theme is chosen that highlights a priority area. This year's theme, ‘Health for All’, expresses the commitment stated by the WHO since the drafting of its founding Constitution, which uncompromisingly calls for health as a fundamental right of every human being and a basis for peace and security.

The Memorandum of Cooperation between the NSI and UNICEF was renewed

The National Statistical Institute (NSI) and UNICEF updated the Memorandum of Cooperation between the two institutions with the duration of the Country Programme 2023 - 2027 between the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria and UNICEF. The document was signed by the President of the National Statistical Institute, Assoc. Prof. Atanas Atanasov, PhD, and the representative of UNICEF Bulgaria, Christina de Bruin.

In connection with the campaign for the submission of the annual activity reports (AAR) of enterprises in 2022, we remind you that the system jointly established by the NSI and the NRA for the submission of annual activity reports continues to function, i.e. legal entities and individuals can submit their annual activity reports in one place. As before, this can be done electronically (on-line) in the NSI's Business Statistics Information System, available on the Internet at https://isbs.nsi.bg.

The National Statistical Institute will conduct a survey ‘Statistics of Income and Living Conditions 2023’

Between March and June 2023, the National Statistical Institute will conduct a survey ‘Statistics on Income and Living Conditions 2023’. A random sample of 9400 households distributed across all districts of the country will be selected. The selected households will be visited by specially trained interviewers for personal interviews and completion of two questionnaires. The first questionnaire concerns the household as a whole and the second questionnaire will collect information on each household member.
