Published at: 14.06.2012 - 11:16
The National Statistical Institute offers to the users who are interested in regional statistics the specialized electronic publication „Regions, Districts and Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria 2010”.
The publication contains data about the demographic, socio-economic and environmental condition of Bulgaria's regions, districts and municipalities in 2010. The most important indicators have been chosen in order to reveal the specifics of the administrative-territorial and territorial units. According to the Classification of Territorial Units for Statistics in Bulgaria the territory of the country is divided into two statistical zones that correspond to NUTS1 level from Eurostat NUTS classification - “North and South-East Bulgaria” and “South-West and South Central Bulgaria”. They are aggregations from the 6 statistical regions that correspond to the NUTS2 level. The statistical regions, on their side, are aggregations from the 28 districts that correspond to the NUTS3 level from the NUTS classification. Tables are standardized to facilitate comparison between the territorial units.
The published information is addressed primarily to researchers in the filed of regional development and planning. It can also be used by a wider range of users.
The publication is published on the NSI website and is also available on CD-ROM.
