Project ‘Pre-testing of new variables for future European Health Interview Survey waves’

The National Statistical Institute has started working on the project ‘Pre-testing of new variables for future European Health Interview Survey waves’. The implementation of the project is according to Grant Agreement with European Commission
No. 07154.2017.002-2017.494.

The aim of the Project is to perform the qualitative and quantitative testing of new variables for future European Health Interview Survey waves. Questions in different areas will be tested as follow:

- Disability;
- Health of children;
- Patient experience;
- Dietary habits.

The Project’s activities will be implemented by two stages:

First stage - Qualitative testing of the selected questions in private households from 2018 EU-SILC sample. 350 persons will be interviewed, of which 180 respondents that have a long-term activity limitation (GALY question will be used). The questions on health of children will be tested among 30 children aged up to 15 years. The activities started in October 2017 and will be implemented by the end of May 2018.

- Second stage - Quantitative testing together with the EHIS wave 3. The quantitative testing will be conducted among country level representative sample of 5 270 persons, living in private households with population aged 15 and over. The interviewing of respondents will be carried out during the period of October - December 2019.

The project duration is 36 months, ending in September 2020.
