Insurance Companies
In 2024, 13 enterprises operated in the life insurance sector, and 34 in the non-life insurance sector. The number of employees and self-employed persons in them was 1,330 and 4,833 respectively. Net turnover in life insurance amounted to BGN 555 million, while the value of production was BGN 331 million. In the non-life insurance sector, net turnover reached BGN 3,781 million, and the value of production was BGN 716 million.
Pension Companies and Pension Funds
In 2024, 10 pension insurance companies operated in Bulgaria, employing 1,247 people (including self-employed). Their net turnover amounted to BGN 249 million, and the gross operating surplus was BGN 113 million.
At the same time, 51 pension funds operated in the country, with 5,067 members and a net turnover of BGN 3,476 million.
Specialized Investment Companies
In 2024, 261 specialized investment enterprises operated in Bulgaria, employing 1,318 people and generating a net turnover of BGN 1,901 million.
Credit Institutions
In 2024, 24 credit institutions operated in the country. The value of their production amounted to BGN 12,784 million, and they employed 28,550 people.
