Registered noise levels - 2024

In 2024, 744 noise level measurement points were surveyed, located in 36 settlements, and levels above the permissible norms were measured in 506 points. In 268 of the surveyed points, values in the range of 63 - 67 dBA were measured. Values in the range of 78 - 82 dBA were measured only in one point. The lack of points with measured noise level values in the highest ranges - above 82 dB(A) outlined itself as a persistent trend.

The cities with the largest number of established exceedances of the permissible norms in the higher frequencies, more dangerous for the human health, were: Sofia (stolitsa), Plovdiv, Burgas, Veliko Tarnovo and others.

52% of the surveyed points with measured levels above the permissible norms in 2024 were located in areas adjacent to road, railway and airport routes.

43.9% of the surveyed points with measured levels above the permissible norms were located on areas and zones subject to enhanced noise protection/control.
