Trips of Bulgarian residents abroad and arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria - Annual data for 2025

In 2025, the number of trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 9 848.2 thousand, or 6.3% above the registered in 2024.

The trips with other purposes (as a guest, education and visiting cultural and sports events) composed the greatest share of the total number of trips of Bulgarian residents abroad - 41.2%, followed by those with holiday and recreation purposes - 40.8%, and with professional purpose - 18.0%.

The number of visits of non-residents to Bulgaria was 13 608.2 thousand, or 2.7% more in comparison with the previous year. The predominant share of the visits was with other purposes - 45.0%, followed by trips with holiday and recreation purposes - 44.4%, and with professional purpose - 10.6%.

The transit passes through the country were 32.8% (4 468.8 thousand) of all visits of non-residents to Bulgaria.
