Energy consumption in ‘Industry’ sector for 2023 (disaggregated data)

In 2023, compared to 2022, a decrease was observed in the energy consumption in the ‘Industry’ sector - by 9.20% to 102 774.901 TJ.

The highest energy consumers in 2023 were the following economic activities according to NACE Rev. 2: ‘Manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations’ (divisions 20 и 21) - 27.94% or 28 719.605 TJ, ‘Manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products’ (division 23) - 21.17% or 21 759.103 TJ, ‘Manufacture of food products, beverages and tobacco products’ (divisions 10, 11 и 12) - 10.89% or 11 196.307 TJ, and ‘Manufacture of basic metals’ (divisions 24А and 24В) - 10.81% or 11 108.173 TJ.

Electricity (31.92%) and natural gas (28.48%) formed more than half of the energy consumption in this sector in 2023.
