Electricity and natural gas market indicators - 2024

ELECTRICITY

The electricity market indicators is published in two levels: ‘Electricity production’ and ‘Electricity retailing’.

In 2024, the number of generating companies producing at least 5% of the national net electricity generation kept the same - 4 (four), with aggregated share of 63.02% including the company with the largest share of 41.92%.

Number of electricity retailers with at least 5% market share in sales to final customers in the country in 2024 also remained unchanged - 6 (six), with aggregated share of 70.84% including the retailer with the largest share of 18.70%.

NATURAL GAS 

The natural gas market indicators is published in two levels: ‘Natural gas availability - produced and imported’ and ‘Natural gas retailing by gas transmission and gas distribution networks’.

In 2024, the number of entities bringing into the country at least 5% of the natural gas imported and produced decreased to 3 (three) with aggregated share of 97.96%, including the entity with the largest share of 68.15%.

Number of natural gas retailers with at least 5% of total natural gas sales by network in 2024 increased to 5 (five) with aggregated share of 70.39%, including the retailer with the largest share of 39.39%.

The statistical data on the electricity and natural gas market indicators is calculated and reported to Eurostat by all EU Member States on a voluntary basis.
