Meeting of the National Statistical Council

On June 15, 2017 at 14 p.m. in the premises of the NSI, under the chairmanship of Prof. Hristina Vucheva, the first meeting for 2017 of the National Statistical Council (NSC) was held. The National Statistical Council is the highest advisory body in the field of statistics at national level.

At the meeting, the President of the NSI Mr. Sergey Tsvetarski informed the members of the NSC about the decisions of the meeting of the European Statistical System Committee, held on 17.05.2017 and 18.05.2017 in Luxembourg.

The proposal for extension of the Strategy for development of the National Statistical System of the Republic of Bulgaria, 2013 - 2017 till 2020 was discussed. The Strategy reflects the national and European requirements and is consistent with the priorities set out within the five-year European statistical programme 2013 - 2017 (extended in accordance with the Financial framework 2020). The members of the National Statistical Council discussed the proposed texts and comments received from the bodies of statistics and the Bulgarian National Bank. The Council unanimously agreed on the view that an extension of the Strategy for development of the National Statistical System of the Republic of Bulgaria must be accepted, which will guarantee the implementation of the strategic priorities in the field of statistics in Bulgaria.
