Energy consumption in ‘Industry’ sector (disaggregated data) - 2024

In 2024, compared to 2023, an increase was observed in the energy consumption in the ‘Industry’ sector - by 2.15% to 108 646.899 TJ.

The highest energy consumers in 2024 were the following economic activities according to NACE Rev. 2: ‘Manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations’ (divisions 20 и 21) - 29.55% or 32 103.483 TJ, ‘Manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products’ (division 23) - 21.26% or 23 102.112 TJ, ‘Manufacture of food products, beverages and tobacco products’ (divisions 10, 11 и 12) - 11.10% or 12 057.426 TJ, and ‘Manufacture of basic metals’ (divisions 24А and 24В) - 10.61% or 11 530.919 TJ.

Electricity (30.03%) and natural gas (28.29%) formed more than half of the energy consumption in this sector in 2024.
