Energy consumption in ‘Transport’ sector (disaggregated data) - 2024

In 2024, compared to 2023, an increase was observed in the total energy consumption in the Road transport - by 5.44% to 149 425.574 TJ. The predominant share in energy consumption for this type of transport by motor vehicle category was held by the aggregated position of cars and vans (65.10%) with a consumption of 97 275.480 TJ. The largest share in total consumption by type of energy product was held by oil and petroleum products (93.27%) with a consumption of 139 374.331 TJ.

In 2024, compared to 2023, an increase was observed in the total energy consumption in the Rail transport - by 4.85% to 1 820.977 TJ. The largest share in energy consumption for this type of transport was held by conventional rail transport (85.50%) with a consumption of 1 556.863 TJ. The largest share in total consumption by type of energy product was held by electricity (76.91%) with a consumption of 1 400.515 TJ.
