Gross Domestic Product for the Second Quarter of 2021 (preliminary data)

According to preliminary data the foreign direct investments (FDI) in the non-financial sector as of 31.12.2020 amounted to 26 288 million euro at current prices.
According to preliminary data in 2020 the expenditure on acquisition of tangible fixed assets in all sectors of the economy amounted to 23 125 million BGN at current prices.
According to preliminary data annual reports on their activity for 2020 were submitted at the National Statistical Institute by 410 785 non-financial enterprises and the number of persons, employed in them, was 2 092 062. These enterprises generated 189 813 million BGN of production value and reported a positive financial result of 19 499 million BGN.
At the National Statistical Institute according to preliminary data 49 licensed insurers, 9 pension companies and 28 pension funds managed by them, 256 special investment purpose companies and 9 558 associations and foundations have submitted their annual reports for 2020.
In June 2021 compared to May 2021 a decrease is reported for the production of: solid fuels - by 58.2%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 6.7%, transport diesel - by 9.3% and electricity - by 3.5%. No change for the production of liquefied petroleum gases and natural gas.
In June 2021 compared to May 2021 an increase is reported for the deliveries of: liquefied petroleum gases - by 6.1%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 35.3% and electricity - by 3.1%. A decrease is reported for the deliveries of: solid fuels - by 57.1% and natural gas - by 1.7%. No change for the deliveries of transport diesel.
Total Producer Price Index in July 2021 increased by 3.0% compared to the previous month and with 13.6% compared to the same month of 2020. Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in July 2021 increased by 3.4% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2020 the domestic prices rose by 11.9%.
In August 2021, the total business climate indicator decreases by 2.3 percentage points compared to the previous month, which is due to the worsened business climate in industry, retail trade and service sector.
The trials of 23 640 committed crimes were ended with penalties (effective and conditional) in 2020. Persons convicted with penalties inflicted in 2020 were 21 889.
According to preliminary data during the second quarter of 2021 in comparison with the same quarter of 2020 the goods carried and the transport performance by the freight land and water transport increased.
In the second quarter of 2021 there was an increase both in the transported passengers (by 30.1%) and the transport performance (by 36.0%) from the passenger transport (land, water and urban electrical transport) compared to the same period of the previous year.
In July 2021, in the conditions of the continuing epidemic situation, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 612.8 thousand. The trips with other purposes (as a guest, education and visit the cultural and sport events) in July 2021 composed the greatest share of the total number of trips of Bulgarian residents abroad - 41.5%, followed by those with holiday and recreation purposes - 40.4%, and with professional purpose - 18.1%.
In July 2021, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 1 234.5 thousand, as the transit was 39.1% (482.9 thousand) of all visits of foreigners in the country. In July 2021, the relative share of visits by purpose was as follows: with other purposes - 47.3%, with holiday and recreation purpose - 44.9%, and with professional purpose - 7.8%.
