In the second quarter of 2020, in a state of emergency and the ensuing epidemic situation in the country, 447.2 thousand Bulgarian residents made tourist trips. The majority (92.7%) of them travelled only within the country, 6.8% - only abroad and 0.5% - both in the country and abroad. Compared to the same quarter of 2019 the total number of the travelled persons aged 15 and over decreased by 63.3%.

Application of this statistical system is designed to estimate all expenditure related tourist trips, made before, during and after the trips. In June 2020, during the continuing epidemic situation, 2 030 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed-places were functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 79.2 thousand and the bed-places were 171.4 thousand. In comparison with June 2019, the total number of accommodation establishments (functioned during the period) decreased by 32.7%, and the bed-places in them - by 43.6%.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in June 2020 was 495.1 thousand, or by 87.7% less in comparison with the same month of the previous year.
The total revenues from nights spent in June 2020 reached 23.1 million BGN or by 88.8% less compared to June 2019.

In May 2020, in a state of emergency and the ensuing epidemic situation, 1 103 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed-places were functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 30.5 thousand and the bed-places were 61.1 thousand. In comparison with May 2019, the total number of accommodation establishments (functioned during the period) decreased by 52.6% and the bed-places in them - by 74.1%.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in May 2020 was 116.1 thousand, or by 92.0% less in comparison with the same month of the previous year.
The total revenues from nights spent in May 2020 reached 5.4 million BGN or by 92.9% less compared to May 2019.

In May 2020, during the state of emergency and followed epidemic situation in the country, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 123.3 thousand, or by 83.8% under the registered in May 2019. In comparison with April 2020 the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad increased by 63.8%.
In May 2020, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 120.4 thousand or by 87.3% less in comparison with May 2019. Compared to April 2020, an increase of 48.3% was registered.

In comparison with April 2019, the total number of accommodation establishments (functioned during the period) decreased by 75.3% and the bed-places in them - by 81.9%.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in April 2020 was 49.5 thousand, or by 94.9% less in comparison with the same month of the previous year.
The total revenues from nights spent in April 2020 reached 2.3 million BGN or by 95.5% less compared to April 2019.
