Energy balances of RES show data on resources, transformation and final consumption of energy from renewable sources. Includes detailed indicators for fuels used and produced fuels/energy from transformation processes. Final energy consumption is presented by economic activity groups (according to the used by Eurostat structure), which ensure international comparison of data.
Includes data from all producers, importers and exporters, and consumers of primary and transformed energy products of all economic activities in accordance with the Regulation (ЕО) № 1099/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 October 2008 on energy statistics.

According Art. 25 of the Law on Statistics individual data are not published (they are suppressed). Dissemination of individual data is possible according to Art. 26 of the Law on Statistics.
Energy balances of RES are published according to the Release Calendar presenting the results of the statistical surveys carried out by the National Statistical Institute on 30 November of the year following the reporting year.

Energy balances of RES are published on the NSI website, section Energy in accordance with the Law on Statistics (Chapter 5) and the European Statistics Code of Practice respecting the professional independence and with aimed at objectivity, transparency and equal treatment of all consumers.

Annexes A and B of the Regulation (EC) No 1099/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 October 2008 on energy statistics and its amendments.
Data on balances of renewable energy products are comparable with the information prepared by the other member states as it is produced according to a unified methodology.
Information is used for analytical, forecasting and managing aims by Ministries and other agencies and organizations.

Data fully meet the requirements of the Regulation (EC) No 1099/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 October 2008 on energy statistics in terms of the scope of energy products and structure of consumption.

Data are reliable, the accuracy is good.
Up to 5% statistical error due to incomplete coverage of the respondents, wrong data declared by the respondents, missing data or measurement errors. The mechanism of verification includes editing of data.
|Timeliness and punctuality|
Data from respondents collected for the preparation of energy balances of RES are collected three months after the reporting year. Analysis, verification and preparation of the energy balances are carried till the end of November following the reporting year.
Data are published according to the Release Calendar of NSI.

Revision is made in result of changes in methodology, in classification used, or in case of incorrect data - omissions or inaccuracies in data provided by the respondents.
Main data sources for the compilation of the energy balances of RES are statistical surveys (included in the National Statistical Programme) for energy products by producers, importers and exporters, and consumers (non-financial enterprises composing a balance), as well as administrative information.
|Frequency of data collection|
Information is provided by conducting statistical surveys on energy products online or through electronic forms:
A comparative analysis of the data from respondents is made with the data from other statistical surveys, with administrative data and with data from the previous periods. Validated primary data are used for construction and preparation of energy balances of RES. Analisis, validation and correction of data is done for every energy balance separately and for all indicators.
Statistical difference between resource and consumption of every balance should be reduced below 5 %.
