Number Concept Description
1 Data description These variables are residence based, not work-place based in contrast to the variables concerning the employment. Since the Labour Force Survey is, in general, designed for NUTS level 2, some estimation were necessary. Economically Active population represents all resident persons in employment and unemployed (and looking for work) above 15 in accordance with Labour Force Survey. The definitions used in the Labour Force survey are in conformity with Eurostat and Urban Audit requirements for the indicators (variables) provided
2 Classification used Unified Classification of Administrative-Territorial and Territorial Units (UCATTU)
3 Coverage Data relate to the eight cities, theirs Larger Urban Zones and the country as a whole. The Labour Force Survey (LFS) is a quarterly continuous sample survey. Two stage cluster sample is used, stratified by districts (28 administrative districts corresponding to NUTS 3 lelel) crossing by  urban/rural areas. For weighting the quarterly results from the survey, the current demographic estimates for population by districts, urban/rural areas, sex and age groups (0-14, 15-24, 25-49, 50+), referred to the end of preceding year are used. Annual estimates are calculated as averages of quarterly estimates. Data estimates prepared for Urban Audit are based on the original LFS data aggregated for the corresponding Larger Urban Zone (LUZ) and city. To improve the estimates additional recalculation of weighs is performed for the units, belonging to the cities and LUZs included in Urban Audit, adjusting the data to the current population estimates (as of the end of preceding year) for each of these cities and LUZ by sex and age groups (the same groups which are used in the quarterly weighting procedure). The figures, included in the tables, are rounded to the nearest hundreds.
