Number Concept Description
1 Data description By the study of migrations (mechanical increase/decrease of the population) the set of persons who have changed their present address is observed. The set units are registered at the moment of the event and their number refers to 31.12. of the reference year. The migration is internal when the person changes her or his usual residence in the country, and external when the person changes her or his present address in the country with a new one outside it or the address outside the country with a new one in the country.
2 Classification used Unified Classification of Administrative-Territorial and Territorial Units (UCATTU)
3 Coverage Data for the mechanical movement of the Nationals into the eight cities refer to two calendar years and include all Nationals who have changed their present address in the country and from abroad to the eight cities. Data concerning the reference years 2005 and 2006 include all migrants regardless their nationality. Nationality is a variable which is obseved in NSI since 2007.
