The main goals of the “Information systems” Department refer to providing of IT Services in the NSI system, leading to automation, ensuring and increasing the efficiency of the realized working processes by optimal using of contemporary information technologies. The main goals, defining its place in the NSI system are the following:

• Development, maintenance and improving of application software for the statistical surveys in NSI;

• Planning, coordination and control for the successfully provided services by external partners, referring to the development and improving of application information systems; supporting their effective control by working out of Technical specifications, recommendations and proposals, taking part in commissions and accepting the results of the accomplished work.

• Assuring the interaction between the Information systems in NSI and RSO.

• Assuring the setting of the information technologies services to conform to the world standards and the requirements of the European Union.

• Caring out technological processing of statistical surveys data;

• Supporting and administration of the SPSS Statistics Server;

• Development, maintenance and improving of analytical applications using the SPSS Statistics Server.
